I received a Kindle version of this book free from the publisher for review (this time through Goodreads), and I’ll begin by telling you it has one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen! It’s absolutely gorgeous and captures your attention right away, so of course I had to look up the artist who designed it. Her name is Cherith Vaughan for those of you interested.

I’ve never read a story based in Asian culture, so this was a refreshing change for me. I especially loved the language used by the characters. It was very unusual and Continue reading “The Geisha with the Green Eyes by India Millar”

The Beast and Me by D.S. Wrights

The Beast and Me (The Beast And Me, #1)The Beast and Me by D.S. Wrights

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is now my favorite version of Beauty and the Beast! This is an excellent story. Simply excellent! I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this book. The author really makes you feel as if you are right there in the situation with the main character, Meg, who is telling us her story through her journal entries. The writing seemed a bit muddled in those places, or perhaps the author was relying too heavily on the reader’s ability to extrapolate. I couldn’t decide exactly what was wrong, nor did I take the time to re-read those paragraphs and think on it, because Continue reading “The Beast and Me by D.S. Wrights”

Ravished by the Alien by Madame Clow

Ravished by the AlienRavished by the Alien by Madame Clow

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This short story about a girl kidnapped by rambunctious aliens will leave you both laughing and blushing. The language the author uses to describe the sexual encounter made me cringe a bit, but she definitely makes an impact. I felt a little dirty after, which I’m guessing is the point! A good read if you’re looking for something unusual and racey and quick!
